In our experience, he has proved to be 100% professional, transparent, reliable and honest in his advice from day one.
On our property, we required only five viewings to get two asking price offers, which eventually went to competitive bidding and resulted in an all cash buyer, all agreed within ten days.
Having worked as an agent previously, I knew of Tom, but had considered going to one of the bigger agents on New Kings Road. It became clear fairly quickly that the larger agents no longer possess the really detailed knowledge, nor the quality of service with the interests of the vendor in mind. When we decided to downsize and started to look for a suitable flat to move to, we were lucky to be shown one by Tom. Following this viewing, Tom then understood our requirements and indeed he contacted us immediately a flat that he felt might suit us, became available at Rivermead Court. Tom is friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. When we had our offer on the flat accepted, we decided to use him to act for us on the sale of our Peterborough Estate house. This was a good decision, not least because it meant all parties were kept informed. Tom arranged blocks of viewings, which minimised the number of visits. As his focus is in SW6 he was already aware of potential buyers and offers came in very quickly. Tom had lots of good advice for us, including recommending a solicitor who was excellent. He was a calming and comforting person to have on our side, during what can be a very stressful time. Tom was our agent for the sale of our house on Doneraile St in July 2023. From start to finish, Tom’s service has been excellent. We’ve felt in safe and expert hands. There’s plenty to worry about during a property transaction but for us, the capability of our estate agent wasn’t one of them!
Tom’s operated in these streets for over 20 years and this experience really came to the fore in terms of knowing how best to present our house versus other properties available. Tom was assiduous in gathering feedback from viewers and built strong relationships with serious prospective buyers. He handled the actual bidding process with great delicacy and care.
At the same time as selling our Doneraile St house we’ve been trying to buy a new house and I’ve been staggered how slow some agents have been to get back to me/gather feedback etc – unlike Tom! From the moment Tom first came round to discuss selling my house in the Alphabet Streets, I felt he had a different approach. My house could best be described as ‘having potential’ as the layout is not totally conventional. Instead of trying to ‘sell himself’ by telling me what properties he had sold recently and pointing out the negatives of my house, he looked at the positives and set about working out a strategy for selling it. Tom takes pride in making sure that the property is looking its best for a viewing (arriving early to put lights on etc). I appreciated his honesty when after a viewing he would say that he thought it wasn’t right for that particular prospective purchaser. Throughout the process he kept me updated and gave sound advice. When a deal was agreed, it was Tom who pushed things along to get the exchange completed. I would have no hesitation in recommending him. As others have said, he has many years’ experience in the Fulham area.

Having been let down on numerous offers via 2 local high street estate agencies some local friends recommended Tom de Winton as an agent. He had successfully acted for one of their parents and they sang his praises.
I met Tom in late July 2022 and was immediately impressed by the extent of his knowledge of the local property market. Tom has many years sales experience in the area, previously heading up two of the foremost property agencies. He is familiar with the different types of houses in the area and very knowledgeable about what is involved in the construction and type of improvements which many buyers contemplate before purchase. Which is of great benefit to his clients.
One of the main areas of Tom’s expertise is the section of roads leading off the Hurlingham area. Therefore, right up my street!
I decided to instruct Tom to sell my home. Tom recommended that mid-September was a good time to market the house. He arranged for some pleasing photographs and marketed the house for 2 weeks and then showed the house for only two days to a dozen or so interested buyers. There were four offers at the asking price and Tom discussed each with me and made his recommendation. Exchange took place at the end of October and completion is mid-December. The whole experience has been very different to my previous nightmares.
Tom is straightforward, I sense he is something of a psychologist and I believe him to have integrity. He is as good as his word, approachable and I think his sensible attitude towards buyers and sellers alike, dissuades both parties from time-wasting tactics and irresponsible behaviour.
I cannot recommend Tom de Winton more highly.

We contacted Tom de Winton on a friend’s recommendation. We were particularly interested in Rivermead Court where Tom had 3 flats on his books at the time. At each of those viewings Tom was extremely helpful in sharing his property knowledge and Rivermead Court experience which was very reassuring for us as we were downsizing and moving to a flat for the first time.
